Ducati Elite II by MotoPuro Official Photos

Last week’s post about the Ducati 1199 café racer custom featured photographs snapped outside the Netherlands residing MotoPuro shop. This weekend I received a link to their official photos and press release, which gave me some more insight and background into this build.

After giving Pandora a makeover I have newfound understand for all motorcycle builds, even the ratty ones with duct tape and zip ties in place of metal bracketry and hose clamps. Perhaps some leave me with a deeper sense of respect for the person who spent hours staring at the machine, but I can appreciate them all none the less.

The lack of exposed wires and cables, the cafe racer style tail section that slopes into the existing lines of the Panigale bodywork… these are things to notice.

MotoPuro developed the Ducati Elite II in total secrecy in the last few months, aiming to pay homage to the 1959 Ducati “Superbike” the Elite 200. A stripped 1199 Panigale as their base bike brought 195 HP, ABS, traction control, and electronic motor brake.

Almost all cables and wires were eliminated, much of it hidden through the single sided swing arm (genius).

The super glossy wire wheels come complete with matching red nipples, and the aluminum tank was polished to a chrome finish along with other matching metal pieces.

Custom dual stacked high mount exhaust pipes from QD, and a completely custom trellis subframe really bring the retro modern look together.

Much like many Monster owners sought cutting off the risers so they could attach clip ons, these folks fabricated a whole new top triple to accept clubman style handlebars.

Very few areas of this Panigale were left untouched, I especially enjoy the clear view engine covers and leather waterbottle holder.

They topped the build off with a quick filler “Monza” gas cap and classy branding.
