After lunch yesterday Virgil Knapp (photographer) and Adam Wood (videographer) stashed themselves in the back of the minivan and took some photo and video (which turned out amazing, you’ll see) before we made our way to the amazingly awesome Woodland Echoes Resort. A cabin in the woods on the lake, with a jacuzzi, and a fish fry in the hall! What motorcycle traveller could ask for more!? Maybe life size chess? They have that too. Also, a baby dragonfly graced my motorcycle, and I took a power nap laying on it.

Super short iphone capture of the footage Adam Wood’s camera yesterday- he was shooting video some of today for this trip. He and Mike Jacobs (of Ontario Moto Roads) discuss in the backgroundhow great his video is (well, that’s what they say more or less.) PS. To get an idea of where I’ll be, and things I’ll see… read about the Explorers’ Edge and hit this video (below). [ Links: RideTheEdge.ca | tagged Road Trip ]

Today I met a wonderful chap from Canada- Tamlyn Beesley is on a 40 day motorcycle road trip and when he passed through Portland briefly we met up for coffee at See See!  He told me tales of the 108 degree Mojave, and first gear turns of Bible Creek Rd in Oregon (which I had never been on… gasp). It’s always nice meeting people on their road trips, even if it makes me a bit jealous. Click the photos for captions, and check this link for his photo journal.

Ever imagined what it would be like to be chased by a dangerous animal on a motorcycle? Well, Tim Bartlett found out while joy riding his new bike on Hwy 93 in Canada when he almost hit a lone wolf on the highway. Apparently Tim almost hit the wolf while riding in Kootenay National Park on Saturday, and returned to the scene where the wolf had appeared. At that point the animal jumped back over the concrete barrier, crossed a lane of traffic, and began the chase that lasted just over a… Continue Reading »
