Happy 4th of July for you ‘Muricans out there. Here’s a bunch of British blokes on dirtbikes to help you celebrate.
Drink beer and blow some stuff up today, it’s the American way.

Here are some shots I got with my phone from the Hell on Wheels MC Vintage MX rally yesterday in Riverside, CA at Milestone MX Park. MotoGeo, Deus, Bixby Moto, ESMB, and BA Moto all had representatives there racing.

It was an amazing time, so many cool people, old bikes (and new), good music, BBQ, beer, the list goes on. Keep your eyes peeled for the bigger post on the event, as I’ll be dumping all the photos off my “real” camera here soon.

Cherry on top- blasting down the freeway on the way back to Ventura, we spotted the mid-60s Ranchero that had been at the event.

My buddy Dave Zemla and his two kids, "Bunch of years ago, Hodge Road off the 15. It’s good to be a dad."
His daughter Paige, on the right, now has her own motorcycle project… she’s restoring a Honda CT90 postie bike with the help of her rad Dad. She’s only 15!

Dirt Quake USA

In 2012 Sideburn Magazine dreamt up a crazy idea to bring a variety riders together for dirty competition- from professionals to novices, everyone (and all types of bikes) were welcome on the dirt track. The original Dirt Quake event took place in Coventry, Canada.

This year Sideburn and See See Motorcycles teamed up to bring Dirt Quake to the USA… specifically the Pacific Northwest about an hour outside of Portland. I can’t think of a better place to host it, either. A plethora of bikes and folks made it out- from serious racers to costumed jokesters, well prepped dirt bikes to overweight baggers… everyone had a blast on the dirt track.

Can’t help but love a giant Teletubby riding a chopper with a suicide shifter around a dirt track. There was even a ladies only class (as well as an inappropriate street bike class)!

Maybe you like babies, maybe you don’t. But this little lad, Cisco from Portugal, clearly knows what he wants to do when he grows up… maybe he was born with it, maybe it’s good genes. Either way I think he’s going to be a motorcyclist when he’s older! Start ‘em young!

His dad is Christiano Fernandez (IG), a talented tattoo artist and motocross rider from Portugal. His mama, Ana Silvestre (IG), works for Monster Energy.

Dirt Quake USA took place in Castle Rock, WA this weekend- a small town about an hour away from Portland.
Photos are popping up all over instagram and this is already by far one of my favorites… Davin (aka MotoGuru) from Icon Motosports at the starting line on his Brammo with knobbies named ‘Sprinkles’. The tassles are the cherry on top for sure.

Edi Arangies with her Honda XR200 dirtbike- her first motorcycle! Now she has a pretty cool blog called the MX4NAM Motorcycle Diaries where she writes about her Namibian offroading adventures
She told me, “I can not describe or explain to you just how passionate I am about motorcycles!” …which pretty much says it all if you ask me!

Stormie Ray pullin’ her dirtbike out of the muddy trenches at Woodland Bottoms in Washinton.
Ruts can be deceiving in the rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest- you’re all “I got this” then it’s more like “holy crap where’d my wheel go?”

McCain Valley Monday

Headed East from San Diego on Monday toward Campo- out into McCain Valley for some desert riding on a lil Honda XR100. Since I plan to head out to the Trophy Desert Party in less than two weeks, I wanted to get acquainted with riding in sand… it’s very, very different.
