Thor’s 60k Jump
…for science! Or… for the love of moto! Or simply because it’s fun to do things that aren’t maybe the best idea. Either way, Thor raised $50,000 to bring some amazing books to print… two years of the One Motorcycle Show. To entice investors, he said he’d jump over them for another 10k. He got it. Today, he jumped ‘em.
Earlier today I posted the gif of a guy jumping his dirtbike into a river. Fabian on facebook pointed me to the source video- a clip from StuntFreaks Killing IT movie… the dirtbike base jump from 40 meters (that’s about 131 feet for us stupid Americans).

This certainly brings new meaning to the saying… “FULL THROTTLE ‘TIL YOU SEE GOD”.

Darius Glover: Paralyzed MotoCross Racer
We’ve all been told or experienced ourselves just how dangeous it is to ride a motorcycle. If you were in a major accident, would you ride again? What if you couldn’t use your legs?
At 15 years old, Darius Glover heard the doctors tell him, “you’ll never walk again and you’ll never ride again.” Regardless of losing the use of his legs from a motorcycle accident, he rides motocross again. He looked at that doctor and said, “you’re wrong.” If that doc doubted him, wow how wrong he was.
Darius went on to qualify for Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross Championships in Florida- he traveled hundreds of miles and was turned down because of his “disability”.
It was a rather lovely day- Chris, Joel, Wolf and I were hanging out when it dawned on us that there were dirtbikes for riding outside. Next thing you know…
I did some riding too… but I wanted to get photos of their hooliganism. Get these two together and well- Chris and Joel had a lot of fun helping me get the photos I want. Joel launched his bike pretty close to me after a wicked slide. Luckily he is a great rider and I am light on my feet.
It was a fun day.

Did my first wheelies on Joel’s 2-stroke dirtbike today… 3 or 4 good’ns. Then promptly ate shit… my tailbone hurts. More photos to follow.
How a motolady spends her evening after work- on a dirt bike!
Believe it or not this was my first two stroke experience and I had a BLAST! It’s really amazing how physically demanding dirt biking is, even when it’s just 20 laps around a big field on a little 125.
Here’s some shots from the evening. I got a couple of Chris, he got a few of me.
