My Monster cush drives were a total pain… wouldn’t come out to save my life. Visited my friend Shelby Shaffer and his Grandpa… they were out within 40 minutes. Full story later… I have to go enjoy the last of this dry weather in Portland.

I found this photo with the caption- “Nearly 100 and still wants to ride.” I have no idea where I found it or who it is, despite attempts at research. Either way- awesome lady.

She is 86, has done 69 years of riding in the US and abroad. She is our female hero, an inspiration for all bikers on and off her bike and a remarkable lady inside. She started riding at age 16, and since then she has always been and is still is a long distance rider who set all standards not only for women riders but for all bikers. She is a member of the Sturgis Hall Of Fame, one of the first in 1946 to have joined “Motor Maids“.

I shot this portrait on Main St Sturgis during the 50th Rally. I suspected that the lady might have been Sturgis’ founder Pappy Hoel’s wife but I realised my mistake when in the next frame she gave me the finger despite the surgical RSI support on her wrist !
Cool I probably deserved it.
