Upon one of visits to Icon’s HQ in Portland, I saw a very cool Airframe Construct with impact statistics labeled on different areas of the helmet. Today, the Icon Airframe Statistic helmet is available to anyone who wants to express (without words) why they choose to wear a full face. Honestly, I’d just love to have one on display in the shop. This summer BMW released their Concept Ninety, a retro modern motorcycle roughly based on the 40 year old R90 design. This month, Suzuki followed up with a retro modern styled sport bike called the Recursion Concept. Shuhei Ueda, located in Japan, is doing some very interesting things in the way of helmet art under the name Ueda Helmets including iconic race replicas. Instead of painting helmets that are already manufactured, he’s sculpting helmets with human features in/on them. Shuhei was born in 1980 in Hiroshima, Japan. He aquired his M.F.A. at Osaka University of Arts in 2005. Below he is modeling his Kenny Roberts themed helmet.
