Remind me to do this with my Monster before I put it all back together!

Monster project progress! Frame and swingarm are back from powder coat (the hugest thanks to Justin Knauer at Icon) and looking sleek and sexy in black! Almost all my motorcycle is in this photo, minus tank and body work…
Some more really cool updates coming soon.

Monster Project: Phase 12

Powdercoat preparation time for the Monster Project. Even though I had so many things mapped out in my head, it always takes longer to do once you’re in it. Similar to me taking off my rear shock and taking the swing arm apart. Oh it’s just a few bolts, right… RIGHT?! WRONG… so wrong.

Combine the fact that this bike was somewhat neglected and abused before I got it with the reality that I’m still learning as I go… it took me like 2 hours. I started at almost 12am (blame my insomnia). Needless to say I was tired as hell the next day at work. It started with Heath dropping off my frame, all tail chopped and with new steering stops

THE TIME HAS COME. Monster project update… one of the happiest in a long time! The new steering stop is in place, and it’s adjustable. Mind boggling, I know. Now, my frame is done. T-Minus a few days until powder coat. Then I get to reassemble! Yee-haw!
Welding by Heath Knapp (Heathen Werks) with some logistics help from Will Jones (Poor Bastard Cycle Works)… thank you both for your help.

Monster Project mini update… seat mount bracket rewelded after extra 6” frame chop! I am very fortunate that Heath Knapp, AMAZING welder is helping with this project.

Another Monster Project update. So soon? YES! Tail chop… about 6 inches off the back end.
At this point, all there is left on the frame is the steering stop up front… then I can move on to painting and reassembly.

Monster project progress! YES! Heath Knapp (friend and absolutely amazing welder) just texted me photos of the frame fix. As you may remember from Phase 2 (photos of previous damage within) this area was mushed by roque frame slider. Next in line is the 6 inch chop off the end… and WHAM. Powder coat time.

Last Monster Project update for a while… The frame has been dropped off to be chopped off! Heath looks positively thrilled.

Frame chop marks!
