Pandora’s Box in Sportbikes Inc Mag

The June issue of Sportbikes Inc. Magazine has arrived, and within you can find some exclusive photos of my Monster, “Pandora’s Box” for your viewing pleasure.

I am flattered and honored to have been included in the publication featuring the lovely Red Spade on the cover.

Took the Monster out in my new home base town of Ventura for the first time today to run some errands, made a pit stop at Surfer’s Point to check out the ocean. Why? Because I can!
Wolf helped me out and grabbed a quick 15 second video of me taking off from the compound on Pandora, if you want to check it out click here and pop over to the motolady instagram.

Giving my Monster, aka ‘Pandora’s Box’, a sponge bath on this lovely 80°F sunny San Diego day.
Yeah, sometimes she gets washed before and after a ride. So what? Gotta treat the ladies right if you want them to do the same.

Oh goodness, I guess I didn’t know that Ruby Helmets has a custom/build your own helmet section. So naturally I spent a few minutes mocking up what would look oh so lovely with the Monster

Such fancy, fancy helmets.

The majorest of major Monster Project updates… the build’s finished. I suppose to say the bike named Pandora’s Box is complete seems pretty oxymoronic, and let’s be real… it really is. No build is ever finished, and I’ll be tweaking and changing things on this girl for months to come I’m sure. Already on the list… moving rear set positioning, angles of the clip on bars, and likely rejetting the carbs.
Pandora and I took our first ride today in over two years- somewhat short for testing purposes. From the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego where I was working, over to Trophy Motorcycles on El Cajon for some new spark plugs, then out to Mission Beach for a mini photoshoot. Yes, she feels great. The 748 front end on there definitely made it ride more like a sportbike (gee I wonder why) and it turns in with just the thought of an approaching corner. Quick as a bunny, with a throaty purr that sounds like it’s coming from the depths of my heart.
Indiegogo folks- don’t worry, I’ll be starting on the rewards portion of the campaign and will deliver them asap. You have not been forgotten by any means. Thank you again for your support and helping make this dream come true… I was jumping up and down like a little kid in the crux of a sugar high after I took her out on the road.
Last note- the build phases of the Monster Project will be updated on this here website, very soon. I had forgone the blogging portion of the project in order to get the thing done [finally].

The third annual Biltwell Parking lot Sale happened today at their new spot in Temecula, CA! I scored a tank and fender for a whopping $5, met the beautiful Ashmore of Babes Ride Out, saw the infamous Dump Truck again, drank free beer that flowed from a vintage Fire Truck, and laid eyes on some beautiful machines.

The Biltwell shop is lovely, all their goodies on display and lookin’ classy as expected. Nice bikes inside, a wall of helmets and a plethora of fun bits for your builds.

Thanks for a great time, guys!

4k Giveaway Helmet Paint by Jeff Wolf

The other day I posted a preview photo of Heidi Cormier's custom helmet from the 4k Facebook Giveaway, promising better ones would come later. Welp, here they are.

image

Heidi specified black and gold as her two colors, and I relayed that to the talented Jeff Wolf when I gave him the medium Icon Airmada helmet.

Remember the MotoLady 4k Facebook Giveaway with the custom painted Icon Airmada helmet?
Here’s a preview photo of winner Heidi Cormier’s custom pinstriping and lettering design by Jeff Wolf. Damn that’s a good looking helmet.

I couldn’t find anywhere else this photo exists on the internet besides tumblr. If anyone has an idea where this ivory/gold/black custom came from… TELL ME. Those’re the same colors of the Monster…
Sometimes I hate google reverse image search- Roland Sands Design for Mickey Rourke. Duh.

Monster Project: I Like Goooold!

Got my wheels back all painted today thanks to Aaron Walker. Bearings, kush drive rubbers, and tires… and the Monster Project will enter roller phase! These things are much like my tank, it’s hard to enjoy their true glory without seeing them in person. Check out the close ups to see the prism flake that matches my tank! YEEHAW! SPARKLES!

Jeff Wolf strikes again! There are benefits to letting the right artist have some artistic reign over their part of a project. I told Jeff generally what I wanted on my Monster Tank- he texted me last night to ask how I felt about a gold line around the body line of the tank where the logo sits. I figured I knew what he meant and told him to go for it. Then he sent me this. Drool.
The text added in the logo says “Classico Moderno” after the style I am going for with this build.
