This new LumiLor™ Electroluminescent Coating System is pretty amazing. Complicated and expensive, but amazing. It is not glow in the dark, it’s an actual paint that lights up. Can you imagine riding around with a glowing helmet? This carbon fiber helmet from Polen Designs featuring LumiLor is a good example of just how bright it is. “Electroluminescence (EL) is a characteristic of a material that enables it to emit light in response to an electrical field” their website explains. “Darkside Scientific has invented a way to spray on electroluminescent coatings using standard HVLP paint… Continue Reading »
A closer look at the finished MotoLady + Silver Piston exclusive rings! I’m really excited about this collaboration… the rings are made to order, by hand, in the USA. It’s a good reminder. Almost 35% of hits are taken straight to the jaw. Here’s the first version/proto Airframe Construct helmet from years back. Amazing to know the top of… Continue Reading »
Meandering through instagram tags and keywords I came across this photo of Marissa Cianciulli which I found particularly striking. She emailed it to me with some details about herself. It’s always nice to include some sort of background with photos of these ladies- to me it gives you a better understanding of the humans inside the helmets, the people riding around you. Marissa rides her 1982 Harley Davidson Ironhead around Philadelphia, PA. You might otherwise see her driving her 72’ Chevy pickup. She’s a graphic designer, and part of a pretty cool… Continue Reading »
