Thanks to the SFRC, it’ll be playing at the Clinton Street Theatre for a whole $5 (more info on the SFRC website). (This makes me miss Portland.)

Check out the trailer for 100min long movie ‘Girl Meets Bike’ coming soon!

A high school shop teacher buys her first motorcycle with her wedding dress money, leading her away from her controlling fiancé into a new circle of motorcycle friends who are attracted but threatened by her new found freedom. As she learns to ride, she must interpret their offers of riding advice: are they subtle forms of control? Or crucial knowledge, without which she might get herself killed?

The quote “Now you’re on your own just like you wanted. No rules, no advice, no one to drag you down.” certainly struck me, rang home to some past experiences in my own life.

Film: Out of Nothing

The magic of Bonneville Salt Flats and land speed racing there is mentioned often around these parts. During my 2012 trip to the BUB speed trials and Bonneville, I had the good fortune to meet a very talented photographer and videographer, Chad DeRosa. He and I both had the same mission- capture the magic of the salt flats and Sodium Distortion race team. Our end vision however was very different- he was filming for “Out of Nothing,” an epic tale of four men forging land speed records.

Ladies (and gay men) rejoice! Ryan Gosling is coming out with a new movie March 29th called The Place Beyond the Pines. Apparently he does all his own stunts, which include riding the piss out of a motorcycle. From the trailer, it’s looking like this film could turn out to be pretty impressive (and I’m very unimpressed by movies these days).

Regardless of Gosling- this is a crime drama with a bunch of motorcycles and a seemingly good storyline. I’m stoked.

From the (terrible, maybe awesome) movie Torque.

Megan Fox takes Shia Labeouf for a ride on an Aprilia motorcycle in Transformers. Too bad Megan can’t ride.
I do love that women on motorcycles is becoming more popular in movies and mainstream media, though. Yee-haw!

RIP Andy Griffith, who died today at age 86. Sheriff of a picture perfect town to rotten no good biker in “A Hippie with Money”. What a cool guy and versatile actor.
I used to watch the Andy Griffith show with my dad all the time. I’ve never been able to resist whistling the tune when the show is mentioned…

Shane, leader of the Mini Skirt Mob. A cool headed, hot blooded blonde, who can’t bear to lose anything… especially a man she thought she owned.

This movie has got to be hilarious.

The Mini Skirt Mob: They like it rough.
This movie popped up in my suggestions on netflix- “The Mini Skirt Mob” 1968

They play around with murder like they play around with men. They’re hog straddling female animals on the prowl!
