Here are some shots I got with my phone from the Hell on Wheels MC Vintage MX rally yesterday in Riverside, CA at Milestone MX Park. MotoGeo, Deus, Bixby Moto, ESMB, and BA Moto all had representatives there racing.

It was an amazing time, so many cool people, old bikes (and new), good music, BBQ, beer, the list goes on. Keep your eyes peeled for the bigger post on the event, as I’ll be dumping all the photos off my “real” camera here soon.

Cherry on top- blasting down the freeway on the way back to Ventura, we spotted the mid-60s Ranchero that had been at the event.

Dirt Quake USA

In 2012 Sideburn Magazine dreamt up a crazy idea to bring a variety riders together for dirty competition- from professionals to novices, everyone (and all types of bikes) were welcome on the dirt track. The original Dirt Quake event took place in Coventry, Canada.

This year Sideburn and See See Motorcycles teamed up to bring Dirt Quake to the USA… specifically the Pacific Northwest about an hour outside of Portland. I can’t think of a better place to host it, either. A plethora of bikes and folks made it out- from serious racers to costumed jokesters, well prepped dirt bikes to overweight baggers… everyone had a blast on the dirt track.

Can’t help but love a giant Teletubby riding a chopper with a suicide shifter around a dirt track. There was even a ladies only class (as well as an inappropriate street bike class)!

Dirt Quake USA took place in Castle Rock, WA this weekend- a small town about an hour away from Portland.
Photos are popping up all over instagram and this is already by far one of my favorites… Davin (aka MotoGuru) from Icon Motosports at the starting line on his Brammo with knobbies named ‘Sprinkles’. The tassles are the cherry on top for sure.

The photo might look like it’s from Isle of Man, but it aint! The Ulster Grand Prix, aka the “World’s Fastest Road Race” takes place on the Dundrod Circuit near Belfast and started in 1922.

The Nürburgring- on the list of places I must ride.

The Nurburgring is located about 43mi/70km South of Cologne, Germany and can hold up to 150,000 spectators. The older “North Loop” of the track is just under 13 miles long, and has more than 1,000 feet of difference in it’s lowest and highest elevations.

The GP-Strecke section is 3.2 miles long with 16 turns, and the total track length is a hair over 16 miles (25.947 km) with 170 turns. Construction of the track began in September of 1925.
