Vintage motocross/trials girl, Debbie Evans, looking stoked as all hell on her Ossa motorbike, wearing what look like Hondaline boots (but could be Hi-Points or any number of other brands).
Debbie is an AMA Motorcycle Museum Hall of Famer, having been the first woman to compete in FIM World Championship Trials event, she’s also appeared in over 200 movies as the stunt rider.

Sometimes you just have to enjoy a photo for what it is- a mood and moment in time captured for as long as the data lasts on paper, on your harddrive… get over your judgements.
Her smile, that motorcycle smile, it shows the joy we all know so well. It’s that moment, that feeling, that happiness… freedom.
It’s not news to anyone that I’m a bit of a gear freak- I wear shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle, and shin armor every time I ride. I’m a fan of full face helmets. But I remember the 96 degree (F) day in Portland last summer, after I’d lapped the small field on the two smoker KZ125 at Chris’ house quite a few times… I was dripping with sweat. I rode into the yard, peeled off all my gear and threw it to the ground. I lapped the field a few times wearing pants, boots, a tank top, and nothing else. It was glorious, yes, yes I’ll admit.

Abby and Brittany ride a scooter! Yes, these ladies are conjoined twins… and they don’t let anything stop them from following their dreams and trying new things. They have two spines and nervous systems but two arms and two legs, the right side and left side are controlled completely separately by each woman. Teamwork and communication get them through every task, even riding two wheels!

Stephanie Kniebler gets a ride on the back of her buddy Kim Kenney’s CB360 while she’s finishing her project. Taking up the back is Chantal Smith on her sportbike. They ride in a sort of riding club, a bunch of awesome motoladies called ‘the Miss-Fires’ (fb).
I love this photo so much. We’ve got a classic smaller bike, retro full face helmet (the Gringo from Biltwell), a 3/4 helmet (probably the Biltwell Bonanza) AND a modern full face with sport bike. This is what it’s all about, people. Riding whatever you want, however you want, whenever you want!
Love motorcycles, and pay it forward! The meaning of life.

The joy of mechanical triumphs- you can see it in his smile. Wrenching can be incredibly rewarding… once you’re through the cursing phase. Photograph from Crude Behavior by Mark Choiniere.

It’s about a woman (me). Two wheels. Four corners. About backpack full of dreams and a road into the Unknown…
It’s about a quest for truth, growth, transformation and healing guided by my spirit, heart and intuition.

Aileen will be traveling the world on a motorcycle and cataloguing it for everyone to enjoy. You can follow her instagram while her website is getting geared up.

Pandora’s Out of the Box: First Real Monster Ride

Over two long years, with help from so many amazing people, I’ve finally got the Monster on the road. As I mentioned in my previous announcement, "Pandora’s Box" rides well but needs tweaking. In the past few days, with some helping hands, I’ve tweaked the carbs a bit and undone some damage from the previous owner(s). While my test riding the other day way nice, it was limited to a 20 mile radius of my place for obvious reasons. Can’t go braaping off into the sunset until you’ve got the gremlins hammered out.

Today, rather than watching the Super Bowl, my friend Jess and I hit the road toward Campo on Hwy 94 from San Diego. A ride I’d already done twice, it was a good choice for stretching Pandora’s legs… or tires.

I have to say… the Monster does well in the twisties.
