So in case you missed the other announcements, I’m leaving San Diego for greener pastures- in other words I’m moving up to Ventura (about an hour north of LA) into a bad ass shop / apartment combo and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

Tri-County Motorcycle Salvage
Stopped by Tri-County Motorcycle Salvage in Ventura, California… picked up some awesome wrenches.
Went to a few antique and vintage shops today in Ventura… awesome stores and a couple scores. Rotations was by far my favorite, with the 50cc Indian minibike, vintage motorcycle stuff sprinkled throughout a bunch of other wares including old street signage and antique photos of women and motorcycles. I snagged an old pair of leather motorcycle pants there, and the owl business card holder at Time Bomb. Good stuff.
Making Stuff: Footpeg Coat Hook
Since I’m finally at the point where I can cut, weld, and grind metal… when I was inspired to make a coat hook this weekend, I did so. I can’t even describe how excited I am to finally be able to do some of the weird decor and art projects I’ve had on my mind for years. My welding isn’t perfect, but it’s getting better with every go. Anywho, on Saturday I made a coat/helmet/whatever-you-want-it-to-be-for hook out of an old foot peg… it even flips up. Friday Night Therapy: DualSporty Project
Friday night therapy- I’m up in Ventura visiting friends and working on Caroline’s Dual Sporty Project with the talented Jeff Wolf.
There are a ton of comments I could make on this photograph, but I think I’ll leave it at… This. Is. Awesome. Regardless of all else you have to admit a motorcycle cop doing a stoppie on his Police Issue BMW motorcycle is pretty fantastic. Note: The officer performed this demonstration on a closed course, was on his own time, received permission from the agency, and BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County covered the cost of a new rear tire (source).
