Was really cool to see a brand spankin’ new 2014 2013 Honda CB1100 (and get to sit on it and rev the engine a lil) today. It’s pretty cool as is, too. The 535lbs felt somewhat low centered making it not overly heavy, and had good height. Again, I’m stoked to see manufacturers bringing retro/classic motorcycles back into the mix. Ducati Elite II by MotoPuro Official Photos
Last week’s post about the Ducati 1199 café racer custom featured photographs snapped outside the Netherlands residing MotoPuro shop. This weekend I received a link to their official photos and press release, which gave me some more insight and background into this build. After giving Pandora a makeover I have newfound understand for all motorcycle builds, even the ratty ones with duct tape and zip ties in place of metal bracketry and hose clamps. Maybe I’m just arriving late to the party, but holy guacamole this Ducati 1199 Panigale S retro-moderned build by MotoPuro is pretty rad… The Ducati Elite II was built by MotoPuro, a Ducati dealership located in the netherlands (website). Suzuki Recursion Concept: Classic Modern in Full Effect
This summer BMW released their Concept Ninety, a retro modern motorcycle roughly based on the 40 year old R90 design. This month, Suzuki followed up with a retro modern styled sport bike called the Recursion Concept. The bike has beautiful classic lines with modern angles, a 588cc water-cooled two-cylinder engine… and turbo. The idea behind the small displacement engine equipped with an inter-cooled turbocharge system is to offer a lighter weight motorbike with all the power of a bigger, heavier liter-bike.
