A reader asked about the knee armor I wear- here’s the answer!
What pops into your head when you hear “Icon Motosports”? Often times it’s armored vests, bright colors and loud emblems. Women’s gear has usually been cluttered with pink, stars, flowers, swirlies and countless other “frilly” things. Not anymore. Icon isn’t limiting themselves to elaborate designs, proved true with the Icon ladies leather Hella jacket. Walking into Cycle Gear as a new rider to check out motorcycle jackets, everything in sight was a bunch of crap. It’s like walking into a whirlwind of 80’s fine art snobbery full of bright colored shapes and… Continue Reading »
Bonjour! I actually got a pair of Icon Heartbreaker riding jeans with Kevlar reinforced knees a couple months ago and have worn them a lot (on and off the bike). They did wonderfully. These are still the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, and one of the most protective. My Puma… Continue Reading »
Do I look excited? It’s because these are the baddest ass motorcycle boots I’ve ever had the pleasure of putting on my feet. Icon ”Reign” women’s waterproof armored motorcycle boots are $160 bucks, fully protective, and fully waterproof. They look good under jeans, over jeans, with motorcycle gear or with your daily wear. They are comfortable as hell, classy, and again… waterproof. They even have a velcro bit on the end of the zipper that makes them easier to grab, and fits between the closure at the top of the boot for secure… Continue Reading »
Photography by Kenneth Benjamin Reed, copyright Vorpal Images 2011. Funny thing about motorcycles, when you get one, you want two. When you get two, you want ten. Then one day you have ten motorcycles and you start to think about how to combine all the bikes into one bike. Not literally combine the parts into one bike, but take all the knowledge you have accumulated and build one bike that encompasses your vision of the ideal bike. The ONE Bike. (show website) On February 5th the night of “The One Motorcycle Show”,… Continue Reading »
