The magic of Bonneville Salt Flats and land speed racing there is mentioned often around these parts. During my 2012 trip to the BUB speed trials and Bonneville, I had the good fortune to meet a very talented photographer and videographer, Chad DeRosa. Jason Omer on his Sodium Distortion partial streamliner at BUB motorcycle speed trials this last week. He was waiting for Mark on the Ducati & Chad in the plane to make a pass for video. Jason set an AMA national 1000cc APS-PG record of 156.8 mph. He beat the old record by more than 6 mph.

BUB Speed Trials- Filming with Chad De Rosa

Some shenanigans from today. Chad DeRosa, photographer/videographer extraordinaire is in the plane, getting some aerial shots of Mark Bjorklund riding the Sodium Distortion Ducati S4RS salt racer. He hit 166mph on the flats today.

GUYS! Guess where I’m almost surely going this year? BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS FOR THE SPEED TRIALS! I’ll be heading down with an amazing group- the Bjorklund Sodium Distortion team (check out their website- Super Rat website).  They’re going for four land speed records with this amazing custom Ducati S4RS. And I get to document the whole thing with my camera! (And maybe even ride it…)
