Big fan of The Vintagent, rare old motorcycle photos combined with history lessons we probably wouldn’t hear of otherwise. This is a 1903 twin-cylinder Buchet, from the Age of Monsters…built for track racing in those early days when there was ‘no replacement for displacement’…this engine was probably 2976cc, and Maurice Fournier rode it to 75mph over the flying kilo that year. The Nürburgring- on the list of places I must ride.  The Nurburgring is located about 43mi/70km South of Cologne, Germany and can hold up to 150,000 spectators. The older “North Loop” of the track is just under 13 miles long, and has more than 1,000 feet of difference in it’s lowest and highest elevations.  The GP-Strecke section is 3.2 miles long with 16 turns, and the total track length is a hair over 16 miles (25.947 km) with 170 turns.
