Alley Sweeper 2013 Video

Hahaha, check it out! It’s me almost biting it on the Alley Sweeper Urban Enduro in 2013.

This guy bench presses (four times?!) a woman on top of an oldschool Ducati. You know, the heavy ones… not one of them newfangled 360 lbs weighing bikes. Thanks for sending this to me, Jonah! (Source: http://www.tumblr.com/)

SFRC Alley Sweeper 2013: “GET OFF MY LAWN!”

Alright, it may be slightly delayed… but I finished my video from the 2013 Sang-Froid Riding Club Alley Sweeper Urban Enduro. After the event I did a mini status update with photos of the damage to the bike and myself after wrecking it twice. Now it’s time to answer the question posed to me via instagram, facebook, AND twitter: “Can you explain to me how that’s fun?” Sure… riding through mud, potholes, gravel, grass, and whatever else you happen upon is not for the faint of heart. It’s for the motorcyclists who… Continue Reading »

Film: Out of Nothing

The magic of Bonneville Salt Flats and land speed racing there is mentioned often around these parts. During my 2012 trip to the BUB speed trials and Bonneville, I had the good fortune to meet a very talented photographer and videographer, Chad DeRosa. He and I both had the same mission- capture the magic of the salt flats and Sodium Distortion race team. Our end vision however was very different- he was filming for “Out of Nothing,” an epic tale of four men forging land speed records.  While I bounced around the… Continue Reading »

Sometimes motorcycling and marketing are mated perfectly… as seen in the Nudist Motorcycle Safety PSA video. The same is true for this Shark helmet video. The difference between real protection and a false feeling of safety is shown in stark contrast in this somewhat extreme motorcycle helmet test.  (From Asphalt & Rubber) (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

Hey remember the End of the World Ride and Last Party on Earth? Yeah, the one I threw for the Mayan “apocalypse” on December 21st. Well I met Johnny at the Alley Sweeper yesterday who actually made a video of it. Thanks man! Wheelies abound! (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

Nicolai Sclater, aka OrnamentalConifer (blog), is a British graphic designer gone sign painter. Back in december I posted photos of hand painted leather jackets by Ornamental Conifer. Then earlier in April I posted the first “Further” video featuring an awesome bike with SUSHI EATER lettering on the side. Observe, that same bike in the secondrow/middle photo above! Nicolai is a talented designer with a very steady hand. His art helps express the soul of the pieces he is decorating whether it be a helmet, jacket, or motorcycle.  The Art of Signpainting with… Continue Reading »

Video: As the Sun Sets

A video about the somber feeling one gets when riding season comes to a close- when we often hold on to each last moment the sun is still kissing the asphalt and the roads are still dry. Hopping on a motorcycle after work for even the shortest jaunt can be a meditative experience. Filmed over the course of two days, I did my best to explain to Taylor what I was conveying with the footage of him riding Skyline at Sunset. Most of my explanations came out in somewhat fragmented sentences… but… Continue Reading »

Music Video: Birdy Nam Nam – Defiant Order

Motorcycles and an unexpected love story- my eyes welled up with tears at the end and simply because the content in this video is everything I love.  Men love ladies who can RIDE! Birdy Nam Nam has been a favorite band of mine for a few years now. Their music is really quite amazing, especially if you observe the way they mix music between multiple DJs. But now they took it one step further and combined riding and stunting motorcycles in inclimate weather and motorcycling women.  Plus… fire, and burnouts…. …and love. … Continue Reading »
